Hops-Meister, LLC is a family owned and operated farm located in Northern Calfornia. Establisted in 2004, Hops-Meister grows a variety of hops, including two proprietary, for the micro-brewing industry. Hops-Meister was the pioneer who brought hops back into California agriculture, initially supplying local breweries with locally grown, organic, wet hops, then expanding the operation to offer whole dry and pellets. Hops-Meister hops are "estate grown", meaning that our hops are grown, picked, dried and pelletized on our ranch. In addition, we now also offer German hops from the Hallertau region in Germany.
We brought two original native California cluster hop varieties back into commercial production. We have named them Ivanhoe® and Gargoyle® and they are grown exclusively at Hops-Meister Farms in Clearlake, less than one hour north of California's famous Napa Valley. For the past decade, Ivanhoe® and Gargoyle® hops have added distinctive flavors to numerous Brewers Association award winning craft beers.
Hops-Meister hops grow quickly in California's sun drenched Lake County and are harvested one month earlier than hops in Oregon and Washington due to our lower lattitudes. This means brewers can get wet hops into their tanks a full month earlier for their harvest brews as well as for entries to the GABF!
